Judaism Week November 2021
Come and See RE Curriculum
Religious Education is taught at St Paul's School using the ‘Come and See’ scheme of work. This scheme of work has been developed to the needs of children today in their faith journey, to enable them to grow in their religious literacy and understanding in a way that is coherent with current educational principles.
The scheme is designed to support teachers in their delivery of religious education. It integrates the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Catholic Levels of Attainment and the Religious Education Curriculum Directory.
At the heart of the programme is the mystery of God’s self revelation of love through Jesus Christ.
‘Come and See’ is based on the four Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council:
Revelation: God Speaks – finding meaning in life
Church: Christ is the light of the nations – Community of Earth
Christian Living; Joy and Hope – Way of life
Sacraments: Liturgy: Celebration – celebration in symbol and ritual
‘Come and See’ has been developed through three themes based around their Constitutions. The themes are gradually explored at greater depth – they are Church, Sacrament and Christian Living.
Please see the RE Newsletters for further information on what your child is learning in RE.
Teaching of other faiths
Throughout the year we also teach other faiths and look at special religious festivals.
Whole School Judaism Week November 2020
We are learning about Judaism this week at school as part of our other faiths week. Miss Armitage led our whole school assembly and shared with us pictures from her synagogue, she also brought in resources for us to look at and explore. Rabbi Adam kindly filmed a tour for us of the synagogue. Please have a look below.
