What we do

The Governing Body of St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School warmly welcomes you to our school.

Whether you are a new or returning parent we never forget you had a choice on where to send your child and we are happy that you chose St. Paul’s. Our community is one we are very proud of and the links between parents, staff and pupils shows how well we work together.

As Governors we work in a team alongside the Headteacher. Our role is to work closely with the Headteacher in a productive and supportive relationship, enabling them to provide an enriched education, leading to the best opportunities for our pupils. We monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making, towards achieving our agreed aims and objectives.

Foundation governors are appointed in the name of the Bishop and it is their duty to ensure that the school operates and educates whilst maintaining the catholicity of the school. In February 2015 the diocese completed an inspection and the good work of the Headteacher and all staff was recognised.

Parent Governors are elected by parents and are a representative of all parents. They represent a ‘parental viewpoint’ on the board.

Staff governors are elected by the staff of the school.

The Governors are very proud of the fact that we have a diverse community at St. Paul’s. It is this diversity that allows our pupils to learn respect, tolerance and love for each other, in order that we can walk in the steps of St Paul.
