Growth Mindset; being positive in UKS2.
Growth Mindset and being positive in Year 6!
Whenever one thinks about their brain, they think it is fixed. They believe it cannot change. But is this really true?
Fixed mindset is about negative attitude and not being able to overcome any obstacles including the lack of self- confidence.
In St. Paul's, we are here to nourish our children's positive attitudes. One of the strategies that we use in Year 6 is practising growth mindset. We want our children to thrive and become their best versions of themselves!
By the end of Year 6 every learner is able to:
- be an independent, active learner
- persevere
-make links with their prior knowledge and experience
- notice, order, compare and contrast
- use their imagination
- be kind, loving and caring by following in Jesus' footsteps
- be resilient
- be a good friend.
Year 6 is a wonderful year when you grow your learning muscles, your character and finally, become ready to leave the primary education and walk into a much ''bigger'' but still fascinating world.
