St Joseph
St Joseph is our class saint he was the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary , he was chosen by God as a worthy guardian and protector of Mary and Jesus.
Joseph spent his life working very hard as a carpenter. Joseph did not mind working hard, he was happy to work to provide for his family. As a child Jesus spent alot of time in the workshop with Joseph. Joseph taught him lots about carpentry.
Joseph lived a life that was totally filled with faith and he was a righteous man. Joseph always showed a great commitment to God, and did as the Lord wanted him to do, no matter how difficult it was to do. He was humble, gentle and wise. Although there are no words spoken by Joseph in the Bibile, he still shows a deep faith and great commitment to God.
St Joseph is the patron saint of many countries including Mexico, Canada and Belgium. St Joseph's Day is celebrated on the 19th March as Joseph the Husband of Mary and 1st May as Joseph the Worker. St Joseph's Day is celebrated all around the world. Many different traditions are carried out in different countries such as Italy, Spain, Malta and Poland.
St joseph is the patron saint of many things including families, fathers, expectant mothers, travellers, immigrants, craftsmen, engineers and workers. People pray to Saint joseph for many different reasons including protection.
